Winter Woodscraft

If you know what to wear and how to prepare, spending time in the winter woods can be downright cozy. On this January afternoon, we will take a short hike through snowy woods in Marlboro, VT, and choose a site for our (very) temporary accommodation. Using simple, light tools, we will prepare a hearth and sofa in the snow. We will gather fire-making materials and coax a fire to life with flint and steel. Once cozy by our stream-side fire, we will practice the art of pie iron cookery and bake up some buttery biscuits.
