
Salamander Tea Party
Saturday, March 29, 10:30am-12:00pm at Brooks Memorial Library
Join Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center for this FREE family program! Enjoy salamander story books read by our salamander mascot, snack on salamander cookies, and learn all about salamander season in Vermont!
Naturalists will be on hand to answer questions about how and where you can take a peek at amphibian eggs or help out with amphibian conservation and community science projects including our Salamander Crossing Brigade.
Hike and Seek: Family Adventures
Saturdays, 10 am – 12 pm
BEEC and the Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro are collaborating to provide guided, outdoor, free, family adventures. Families are invited to partake in short walks to local spots with naturalists and educators from both organizations. These excursions are themed and are designed to inspire families to have fun together outdoors.
- All ages are invited, though these outings are designed primarily for children ages 5-11 and their caregivers.
- Pre-registration is required.
- Each walk will provide a snack and include basic trail safety.
- Transportation is available from downtown Brattleboro.
- Outdoor gear is available depending on the season and the program.

We will enter the magical world of nature and find the spring ephemerals blooming on the forest floor. - May 24 – Paddle Out, at Retreat Meadows, Brattleboro
Come on out on a paddling safari to discover the bustling life both big and small. We will have canoes for families. - June 7 – River Life Revealed, at Vernon Dam, Vernon
Join us on a visit to the fish ladder viewing room and to collect aquatic organisms on the shore below the dam.
